Gwynedd Preparative Meeting was established in 1702. In 1714, the preparative meeting was transferred to Gwynedd Monthly Meeting. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. In 1936, Gwynedd Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was established as Gwynedd Monthly Meeting at the dissolution of the original Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite). In 1936, Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued and its three preparative meetings, Gwynedd, Norristown and Plymouth were established as monthly meetings. The members of Gwynedd Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) became members of this newly organized Gwynedd Monthly Meeting.
